The Business & Background
Retail trading doesn't have an information shortage. It has a clarity shortage.
Most platforms solved the wrong problem. They gave traders more indicators, more charts, more data feeds, when the actual gap was never volume of information. It was translation. Turning market noise into a decision someone can actually act on and defend.
Three symptoms of the same root problem:
1. No exit plan, no trade, just a bet.
Entering a position without a defined take-profit or stop-loss isn't trading, it's hoping with extra steps. Most losses don't come from bad entries. They come from no plan for the exit, so the position gets managed by emotion instead of by a number decided in advance.
2. More indicators ≠ more clarity.
Twelve charts don't make someone a better trader; they make the moment of decision slower and murkier. The skill retail traders are missing isn't "read more signals." It's synthesis: turning five conflicting indicators into one clean answer.
3. The interface was built for professionals, not for people.
Candlesticks, RSI divergence, order book depth which are second nature to a prop desk and genuinely intimidating to everyone else. The complexity isn't a sign of sophistication. It's a wall. And that wall is why smart people avoid a market they'd otherwise understand fine, if someone just explained it in plain language.

Challenges
I led product design end to end, partnering with two engineers, a PM, and the founder. We mapped the real jobs behind the dashboard, then pressure-tested flows against live user sessions.
Discovery moved fast and messy, whiteboards, clickable stubs, and throwaway prototypes — before we committed to a system that could scale across every surface.
